Imagination

“Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.”
-Gloria Steinem

Tapping into a child’s imaginative capacity unleashes new worlds. Young artists can dream and invent with an energy that is boundless. Leveraging this motivation and enthusiasm in the art room leads to transformative learning experiences and incredible works of artistic prowess.

Children are designers by nature, and they learn so much about art-making through play.  This is why progressive educators prefer to access students through their imaginations: it opens the doorway to lessons of all kind, from sculpture and construction to engineering and computer programming.  Trusting in one’s own imagination, and learning how to make one’s dreams into realities, builds resilience and a capacity for meaningful innovation.
