My Art Program

“Art can connect communities and empower young people to be agents of change -- something we need more than ever at this moment in history. ”

With nearly two decades of experience as a progressive art educator, I craft and customize a project-based art program around the principles of self-expression, community building, ecological awareness, and social justice. My program emphasizes a strong alignment with nature and a focus on cultural diversity and personal well-being. I approach teaching art through a growth-mindset lens, encouraging children to experiment with materials and celebrate mistakes as a valuable benchmark of progress.

Integrated into my curriculum are opportunities to explore different modalities found in cultures all over the world and throughout history. I empower students to appreciate diversity, to embrace and explore their own cultures, and to find ways to express their own unique voice.

It takes courage and vulnerability to engage in authentic art-making — and it takes these same skills to be a change-maker. My mission as an educator is to design art opportunities that spark, stretch, and strengthen these skills, giving students the strength and resilience to express themselves with confidence and to contribute to the world from a place of authentic creativity.
